Volunteering

Community Living Espanola believes that all people should be able to live in dignity in their community where they can access the supports needed to ensure full inclusion. Volunteers provide that important link to community and they make a huge difference in supporting people with developmental disabilities reach their full potential. They are special people who provide their time, their skills and their commitment to helping make people’s dreams come true.

Community Living Espanola has a wide range of volunteer opportunities from short-term or one-time events to longer-term commitments. Whether serving as a Board member, contributing to special events or projects, students looking for a great place to complete volunteer hours or just looking to connect with community, there are a number of ways you can do this and support the mission and ideals of our agency:

  • provide one-to-one support and friendship
  • contribute as a team member with one of our special events or weekly activities
  • apply your skills to the work of the Board of Directors

For more information on volunteer opportunities or to volunteer with Community Living Espanola, please contact Kathy Ainslie, Volunteer Co-ordinator at (705) 869-0442 ext. 30 or download the Volunteer Application Form and return to the Administration Office at 345 Centre Street. Additional information will be provided at that time.

Perhaps you have an interest or hobby that you would like to share. We may be able to incorporate your skills into an existing program or even create a new one. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your ideas!

Even if you can’t volunteer your time, you can still help!

Become informed about issues affecting people who are labeled with an intellectual disability and tell your friends and family what you have learned. Remember that all people have the ability to be good friends, neighbours and employees. Encourage others to give people a chance to demonstrate their skills and abilities.

Make a difference in someone’s life and the community around you! Lend your time and talents so that someone else can realize their goals.
